IOC finalises Singapore as host of week-long esports festival

The International Olympic Committee has stepped up its commitment to competitive gaming by announcing that its inaugural Olympic Esports Week will take place in Singapore from June 22-25 next year.

The IOC and the Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) said in April that they were exploring the possibility of staging a “festival of virtual sports and gaming”. Dates have now been confirmed for the first event of its kind.
