Major League Baseball’s New York Yankees are adding two new social gathering sections at Yankee Stadium for the 2020 season, continuing a fast-growing trend throughout the sport favoring such standing areas.
The new Stella Artois Landing will be built in sections of 232A and 232B in the ballpark’s left field while the Michelob Ultra Clubhouse will span sections 207 and 208 in right field. Both areas will be accessible to all ticket holders, and also sold as pre-game party spaces for larger groups.
The new sections both carry entitlements spinning out of the club’s larger partnership with the Anheuser-Busch InBev brewing giant that has been extended through the 2024 season.
The Yankees already had several other branded standing sections at Yankee Stadium, including Frank’s Red Hot Terrace and Toyota Terrace beyond center field, among others. But as baseball fans continue to opt for in-stadium experiences beyond traditional rowed seating, many clubs including the Yankees are retrofitting their facilities to build new gathering spaces.
“The Stella Artois Landing and Michelob Ultra Clubhouse were conceptualized and built with input from our guests, who have consistently asked for more social locations to enjoy,” said Marty Greenspun, Yankees senior vice president of strategic ventures. “Fans in attendance have clearly gravitated toward these types of settings, and we look forward to providing even more communal gathering spots for our fans to thoroughly engage with the game in a socially focused style.”
The new areas will also be in use for Major League Soccer’s NYCFC, the other major tenant of the ballpark.
