NBA 2K League unveils series of changes for 2022 season

The NBA 2K League has unveiled a series of changes for the 2022 season including a tournament-centric season structure, new 3v3 tournaments which amateur teams can participate in, and a significantly higher total prize pool.

The National Basketball Association's esports property is pivoting from a traditional “regular season” and will now primarily be focused on tournament play, with the season spanning April through August.

In addition to the league’s standard 5v5 competition, the NBA 2K League is leveraging its partnership with cryptocurrency exchange platform Coinbase to stage three new 3v3 tournaments, which will culminate in a championship.
