Thomas Bach, president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), has reiterated the body’s “strong concerns” over the governance of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) and threatened the sport’s place at the Paris 2024 Olympics, while questions have also been raised about the “lack of progress” over reforms at the International Boxing Association (Aiba).

The IOC held a virtual Executive Board meeting yesterday (Wednesday), after which Bach (pictured) held a press conference via video-link to discuss the ongoing reform measures at both the IWF and the Aiba, among other matters.
