Fifa has warned that it will “adopt a new commercial positioning in gaming and esports” in the wake of thus far unsuccessful renewal negotiations with incumbent licensing partner EA Sports.
Following the recent EA Sports blog post that has fuelled the doubts over the continuation of ties between Fifa and one of its long-standing and most lucrative partners, Fifa issued a statement on Friday evening underlining that it is “bullish and optimistic” about its long-term future in the gaming and esports sector.
