Australia's upcoming Australian Rules and rugby league season finals will be significant milestones for the return of sport in the country after the pandemic, with large crowds set to attend both.

The NRL says it expects to host Australia’s largest crowd for a sporting event in seven months this weekend, with the 83,500 ANZ Stadium in Sydney open at 50 per cent capacity. The last tickets for the October 25 Grand Final are being released today. Seats are being sold in a chequerboard layout to guarantee social distancing, and the use of hand sanitiser and masks will be encouraged.
