Los Angeles Galaxy striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has finished the 2019 season with the top-selling player jersey in Major League Soccer for the second consecutive year.

Atlanta United striker Joseph Martinez and LAFC forward Carlos Vela – the league’s last two Golden Boot winners – lie second and third on the list. DC United’s Wayne Rooney and Chicago Fire midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, two players with significant pedigrees and international experience, are fourth and fifth respectively.

The rankings are based on overall retail sales of adidas MLS jerseys on MLSstore.com since the beginning of 2019 and through the end of the 2019 MLS regular season.

Seattle Sounders have four players in the top 25, while Sporting Kansas City defender Graham Zusi is the only player to appear on the list for the last six consecutive seasons. Thirteen different countries are represented on the top-selling jersey list.

Meanwhile, New York City FC has confirmed that its October 23 Eastern Conference semi-final match against either DC United or Toronto FC will take place at Citi Field, the home of the Major League Baseball’s New York Mets.

Further NYCFC playoff games could be be played at the venue if the New York Yankees reach the World Series. NYCFC shares Yankee Stadium with the Yankees, who are currently competing in the American League Championship Series against the Houston Astros.
