The Women’s Tennis Association has announced that the Mexican city of Guadalajara will host the 2021 WTA Finals after conceding defeat in efforts to retain the event in Shenzhen.

Shenzhen signed a 10-year hosting deal with the WTA in January 2018 and was due to stage the end-of-season finale until 2028. Shenzhen assumed hosting rights from Singapore, whose five-year agreement with the WTA expired after the 2018 tournament.
