Williams fuels record-level US Open viewership on ESPN

Serena Williams’ final US Open run produced record attendance and viewership numbers during her second-round singles match against world No. 2 Anett Kontaveit.

As it did for her first-round match, ESPN aired the entirety of Williams’ second-round match on its main cable network, drawing the most-viewed US Open early round telecast on ESPN ever with a peak of 5 million viewers watching her three-set victory.
