Tokyo officially reveals bid to host 2025 World Athletics Championships

Tokyo's bid to host the World Athletics Championships in 2025 was confirmed yesterday (Wednesday), as Japanese officials welcomed an inspection team from World Athletics.

Tokyo governor Yuriko Koike and inspection team chairman Antti Pihlakoski appeared at a press event yesterday. The inspection team is today visiting Tokyo's National Stadium, built for last year's Olympics and being lined up as a possible venue for the athletics championships.
