RLIF ‘surprised’ by Australian calendar reform plan

The Rugby League International Federation (RLIF) has reacted with “surprise” to proposals from the Australian Rugby League Commission (ARLC) for reform of the international calendar, stating they represent a substantial shift from previous thinking.

The ARLC last week proposed an overhaul of the calendar in order to provider a greater platform for emerging nations and reintroduce the Australian national team’s tour of Great Britain.
