Major League Baseball has appointed veteran sports media executive Billy Chambers to the newly- created position of executive vice president of local media as the league looks to navigate the regional sports network landscape in the United States, which has faced growing pressures in recent years amid increased cord-cutting, rising rights fees, as well as carriage issues with satellite TV providers.
