Madrid bags three-year deal to host revamped Sevens World Series

The City of Madrid has secured a three-year deal to host the Grand Final of the reimagined World Rugby Sevens Series, with Mayor José Luis Martinez Almeida stating this will be the most significant sporting event the Spanish capital will stage in the coming years.

World Rugby and the City of Madrid announced the deal today (Tuesday), with the contract to commence with the 2023-24 season as part of the wider revamp of the Series detailed by rugby union’s world governing body in November.
