LaLiga North America is looking to capitalize on the new sports betting landscape in the United States by signing a partnership with global sportsbook operator PointsBet.
The deal covers the remainder of the 2019-20 season and the 2020-21 season. Terms were not disclosed.
The partnership will focus on a series of multi-lingual content offerings, including the weekly PointsBet Prediction of the Week segment, which will be presented by Luis Garcia, Jimmy Conrad and Chelsea Cabarcas.
In addition, three LaLiga Ambassadors will be chosen as PointsBet Legends and provide their personal predictions in English and Spanish to encourage fans to make their own bets on the dedicated PointsBet gambling space on the LaLiga website.
This deal marks PointsBet’s third partnership with a major professional sports league in the US after entering into a collaboration with both the National Basketball Association and XFL in February. It is also LaLiga’s first partnership with a sportsbook in the US.
Last month, LaLiga North America announced a multi-year partnership with telco Verizon, which is exclusive to the US. The multi-faceted partnership offers Verizon customers, through its loyalty program Verizon Up, the chance to interact with LaLiga through experiential events, educational opportunities, youth and coaching programming, clinics, and tournaments.
LaLiga North America recently teamed up with FanWide, a website that shows sports fans the closest match-watch party or fan community event at sports bars across the US.
