Spain’s LaLiga has said the Covid-19 pandemic caused club revenues to regress to levels of ‘five or six years ago’ after the combined losses of teams across the top two leagues in the country amounted to €892m ($942m) for the 2020-21 season.

Clubs across the two divisions collectively generated just under €3.82bn in revenues during the last completed campaign, a drop of 24.1 per cent compared with the partially-impacted 2019-20 season when club revenues stood at €5.03bn.
