India facing IOC suspension if elections not held, could lose Hockey World Cup hosting rights

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has instructed the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) to hold long-awaited leadership elections “within the coming weeks” or face being suspended from the body.

Meanwhile, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) will dispatch a delegation to India to inspect its national hockey federation, Hockey India, six months before the country is due to host the Men’s Hockey World Cup.
