Narinder Batra has today (Monday) stepped down as president of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) and Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and resigned his membership of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), citing “personal reasons”.

Batra made the announcement in three separate letters addressed to the FIH, IOA and IOC which have been widely reported by Indian media. The development comes a fortnight after the Delhi High Court refused to halt an order set out in May which voided his presidency of the IOA.
