Giro d'Italia organiser RCS Sport has named Trieste as the end destination of next year’s race.
RCS Sport also revealed today that the penultimate stage will be a 10-kilometre ascent of the steep climb up Monte Zoncolan on May 31. The race will end on June 1 with a 169-kilometre stage from Gemona to the north-eastern port city of Trieste, finishing on a city circuit.
The race will begin in Belfast on May 10 before arriving in Dublin on May 12, with riders then travelling by airplane to Italy.
The full Giro d'Italia route will be unveiled on October 7.
