The German Bobsleigh, Luge and Skeleton Federation (BSD) has extended and expanded sponsorship deals with logistics company DHL and health insurance provider Viactiv.
DHL serves as a premium partner of the BSD, having backed the organisation since the 2014-15 season. The long-term extension of the deal will take in the home 2020 International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation World Championships in Altenberg and the 2022 winter Olympic Games in Beijing.
DHL also serves as the exclusive logistics partner of the BSD. Having initially focused on the Deutsche Post brand, the agreement is now set to switch to promoting DHL.
Arjan Sissing, head of brand marketing at Deutsche Post DHL Group, said: “This year, we want to emphasise our expertise in parcel delivery as well as our know-how in special logistics. That’s why the DHL logo will be featured on sports equipment, women’s athletic apparel and social media.”
Meanwhile, having first partnered with the BSD last year, Viactiv has upgraded its deal to become a premium partner for the new World Cup season. Viactiv will be a helmet sponsor of the German skeleton team, and also support bobsleigh athletes Kim Kalicki, Stephanie Schneider and Johannes Lochner.
