Alexis Schäfer, former commercial and marketing director at the International Paralympic Committee, has been appointed as chief operations officer of the 2025 FISU Summer World University Games in the Rhine-Ruhr region of Germany.
Schäfer will take on his new role on February 1. In June, it emerged that he would leave his position at the IPC after the postponed Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
