Five nations in contention to host 2024 Weightlifting World Championships

The International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) has announced that five bidders are in contention to host its 2024 World Championships, with the strong potential for the event to head to a new market.

At the end of the first deadline to express interest in hosting the 2024 World Championships, five preliminary candidates from three continents sent their application to the IWF: Albania, Armenia, Bahrain, Peru and Venezuela.
