The International Weightlifting Federation is seeking a new venue for its 2022 World Championships after the Chinese Weightlifting Association withdrew from hosting due to the Covid-19 situation in the country.
The IWF awarded its 2022 World Championships to the city of Chongqing in September 2019. It would have been the first time China had hosted the World Championships since Guangzhou’s event in 1995.
