McLaren Racing and German aviation services company FAI Aviation Group have signed a multi-year sponsorship agreement starting in the 2020 Formula 1 season.

As part of the partnership, which is part driven by value-in-kind, FAI Aviation Group will be represented on the inside of the rear wing endplate of the McLaren MCL35 race car for this season.

Zak Brown, chief executive officer at McLaren Racing said the company was the “perfect partner” for the team because of its track record of mission-critical services.

“Being trusted to provide services to NGO’s and several government agencies underlines the quality and professionalism of the company and its people,” he said.

FAI’s experience spans across more than 30 years providing services such as VIP charter, aircraft management, air ambulance and maintenance for government agencies, non-governmental organisations and high-net-worth individuals.

The new McLaren car, with its new livery and on-car sponsors, will be unveiled to the media on February 13 at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, UK.

The new car will showcase the significantly-increased branding positions of British American Tobacco (BAT), which has upgraded from a Global Partner to a Principal Partner for the new season.

BAT will vary its branding in support of its broad portfolio of new category products, along with its  ‘A Better Tomorrow’ mission statement. BAT will  promote its vapour range, Vuse, as was the case last season, and, for the first time, its modern oral product, Velo.

BAT-related branding will be highly visible on the car with new sidepod branding, as well as inside-halo and front-wing logo placements.
