Egyptian President backs bid for 2036 Olympics

The Egyptian government has announced that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has given the country’s sports authorities the green light to draw up a bid for the 2036 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, made the announcement during a visit to Egypt by International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach and an IOC delegation.
