The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) expects the International Cricket Council (ICC) to grant the Indian Premier League (IPL) a longer window of international exclusivity, according to BCCI secretary Jay Shah.

Shah told Reuters the board has received a “positive response” from the ICC and other boards after announcing the expansion of the IPL from 74 matches per season to 94 matches by 2027. He said the BCCI is “in discussions with the ICC and several other cricket boards” to extend the IPL’s international window accordingly.
