The ATP men’s tennis tour and the US Open Grand Slam have announced they will trial off-court coaching of players during qualifying and main draw matches, starting from the week of July 11, this year, but the Wimbledon Grand Slam is understood to be against the initiative.
The announcement aligns the ATP and US Open, organised by the US Tennis Association, with the WTA women’s tennis tour, which already has an off-court coaching trial in place.
