LaLiga football club Atlético Madrid has signed up international money transfer company Ria Money Transfer as its new back-of-shirt sponsor.
The brand will be visible on the back of the men’s and women’s teams’ shirts across all domestic matches the club plays throughout the four-year agreement.
It joins international financial firm and main shirt sponsor Plus500 and sleeve sponsor automotive manufacturer Hyundai in the club’s top tier. Both these deals began in 2018 and expire in 2021.
José Cabral, Ria Money Transfer’s general manager in Europe, said the company has been looking to associate with the club for some time. He said: “This project started six years ago, when we asked ourselves: ‘Why don’t we sponsor Atlético de Madrid?’’’
This week, fellow LaLiga club, Celta de Vigo have also added a back-of-shirt sponsor, signing a deal worth €750,000 ($830,000) as indicated by SportBusiness Soccer.
