Japanese pay-television broadcaster Wowow has conceded defeat in its bid to retain rights to LaLiga, which is set to bring an end to its 20-year coverage of Spanish football's top flight.

Wowow holds linear rights to LaLiga in Japan for the 2018-19 to 2022-23 cycle, with DAZN holding the streaming rights. Wowow is thought to pay the bulk of the combined rights fee.
