The women’s Rugby World Cup 2021 in New Zealand is to be shelved until next year due to the ongoing effects of the pandemic.

World Rugby has recommended the delay and the decision is expected to be confirmed after a meeting of the Rugby World Cup Board and World Rugby Executive Committee next week. The tournament is currently scheduled to take place from September 18 to October 16.
