United Center adding large 4k scoreboard

Chicago’s United Center, the home of the NBA’s Bulls and NHL’s Blackhawks will install a new 4k ultra high-definition scoreboard and sound system this summer. The scoreboard will be the largest 4K scoreboard in the NBA or NHL.

The scoreboard will feature 8,660 square feet of 4mm pixel pitch displays with more than four times more LED screen display than the United Center’s current scoreboard.

“This new scoreboard allows us the opportunity to take the in-game experience to the next level,” said Sergio Lozano, senior director, scoreboard operations, at the United Center. “Fans will be blown away by the remarkable scale and unique capabilities leading to a truly captivating in-game experience.”

In addition to the new scoreboard, the United Center is installing a fully-customised, production-level sound system. The system will deliver more powerful audio to fans and visitors according to a press release.
