The Australia-New Zealand Super Rugby tournament this year looks set to go ahead following the New Zealand government's announcement of a travel bubble between the two countries starting April 19.

The competition has been mooted for some time but was dependent on relaxation of travel restrictions between the two countries. On Tuesday, New Zealand prime minister Jacinda Ardern announced that travellers from Australia would not be required to quarantine before entering New Zealand. Quarantine-free travel from New Zealand into Australia has been allowed since late last year.
