UCI World Tour’s Team Bahrain McLaren adds host of sponsors

The UCI World Tour’s Team Bahrain McLaren has added a host of new sponsors ahead of the 2020 road cycling season.

It follows the news that British automotive manufacturer McLaren will replace Spanish bike brand Merida within the team name, beginning with next year’s campaign.

British performance brand Le Col has replaced Italian brand Sportful as kit supplier in its own first step into the UCI World Tour.

Cleaning brand Muc-Off, luxury watchmaker Richard Mille and global news broadcaster CNBC also join the Team Bahrain McLaren’s sponsorship portfolio. Richard Mille will be granted visibility on the newly designed team kit as part of its agreement.

John Allert, joint managing director of Team Bahrain McLaren, outlined how the new deals aligned with the organisation’s existing sponsorship portfolio. He said: ‘’The team’s strong connection to the Kingdom of Bahrain is represented by the proud and continuing support of Mumtalakat, the Bahrain Economic Development Board, Batelco, NBB, Alba, First Energy Bank B.S.C. and Lulu Hypermarket, amongst many others.

Team Bahrain McLaren will also be working with a number of pro cycling’s most impressive technical partners – including leading edge helmet and eyewear brand Rudy Project, premium race shoe brand Sidi, cycling luggage innovator Scicon and Elite trainers.

The 2020 UCI World Tour season begins on January 20. Alongside its name change, Team Bahrain McLaren has added a new team principal in Rod Ellingworth. It has also signed several new riders, including British sprinter Mark Cavendish.
