Tasmania throws hat in the ring for 2026 Commonwealth Games

The Australian state of Tasmania has expressed interest in staging the 2026 Commonwealth Games or acting as a co-host.

Tasmania’s Liberal premier, Peter Gutwein, sent a letter to Craig Phillips, Commonwealth Games Australia chief executive, formally requesting that Tasmania be considered as a host state for the 2026 Games.
