The growing trend of “family friendly” concession pricing in North American sports began at Mercedes-Benz Stadium with the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United. Now another Atlanta venue and franchise are winning accolades for their pricing scheme.
In the most recent NBA fan loyalty tracker, State Farm Arena and the Atlanta Hawks led the entire NBA in fan satisfaction with beverages and concessions with a 60-per-cent rating. The Hawks introduced a new pricing scheme based on the Mercedes-Benz Stadium success in October at the start of the new NBA season. The Hawks offer a total of 11 items for under $5.
The NBA average satisfaction in the fan loyalty tracker is about 38 per cent; last season the Hawks’ rate among season ticket-holders was 22 per cent.
