The European Olympic Committees (EOC) has appointed Simon Clegg as a senior consultant for its inaugural European Games in 2015.
Clegg is the former chief executive of the British Olympic Association, Ipswich Town Football Club and the 1995 European Youth Olympic Festival.
Meanwhile, Makis Asimakopoulos, former head of sport at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games and the 2011 Athens Special Olympics has been appointed sports consultant.
EOC president Patrick Hickey said: “I am delighted we have secured the services of two such experienced and respected international sports professionals. I am convinced that both Simon and Makis together will make a major contribution to the success of our inaugural event whilst helping to build the brand for future editions.”
