North American women's hockey league, the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF), has been purchased by the Mark Walter Group and Billie Jean King Enterprises, who entered into a formal partnership with the Professional Women’s Hockey Players’ Association (PWHPA) earlier this year, and will create a new professional women's hockey league launching in January 2024.
