Sports marketing agency Pitch International has added Austin Houlihan, currently the director of the Deloitte Sports Business Group, to its senior management team.
Houlihan will join Pitch at the start of November in the role of director of strategy and business development.
He brings with him 19 years of experience working in the sports industry, including 15 years at Deloitte’s UK-based sports business operation.
Jonathan Rogers, Pitch’s chief operating officer, said today (Friday): “Austin’s appointment ensures that Pitch international remains ahead of the curve as we continue to evolve in an ever-changing sports industry. His wealth of experience will not only benefit Pitch, but also our partners as we develop the best strategies to drive their businesses forward.”
Houlihan added: “I’ve enjoyed 15 fantastic years within the Sports Business Group at Deloitte and am grateful to Dan Jones and the rest of the team for their support. The Group continues to grow strongly, and I wish them every success in the future.”
Earlier this year, Pitch hired Sunil Kaikini, the head of international broadcasting at the Premier League, to the new position of managing director of football. That followed on from the arrival of Oli Slipper, co-founder of digital media company Perform, as Pitch’s executive chairman.
During his time at Deloitte, Houlihan worked on various strategic, media and commercial development assignments with clubs, international federations, leagues and investors in the UK and internationally. He was also responsible for the development and management of the Group’s Sports Business Information System.
