Fight sports streaming platform FITE will offer pay-per-view coverage in several markets around the world of ONE Championship’s ONE: CENTURY event in Tokyo on Sunday, October 13.
The deal covers: Canada, Australia, UK, Ireland, Spain, Netherlands, Croatia, South Africa, France, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Mexico, Argentina, and Turkey.
ONE: CENTURY is a landmark for ONE Championship, being the promoter’s 100th live event. It is billing it as “the single greatest world championship martial arts event in the last 100 years”, and it will feature World Championship title bouts, World Grand Prix Championship Finals, and other match-ups between ONE World Champion title holders.
The event is divided into two parts. Part one is headlined by a fight between ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion Angela Lee and ONE Women’s Strawweight World Champion Xiong Jing Nan. Part two is headlined by two-division ONE World Champion Aung La N Sang versus ONE Heavyweight World Champion Brandon Vera.
Part one begins at 9am Japan Standard Time on October 13, and part two at 5pm JST.
In the press release announcing the deal, FITE chief executive Kosta Jordanov, a Black Belt in Shotokan Karate and a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Blue Belt, said: “To be given the opportunity to partner with ONE Championship for their 100th blockbuster show is game-changing for us. We’ve had tremendous success streaming international PPV events so we know viewers will be tuning in from across the globe to witness this historic event, ONE: CENTURY.”
ONE chairman and chief executive Chatri Sityodtong said: “FITE has quickly become the leading streaming service for PPV combat sports viewers in the US which also has a vast international footprint. For this PPV event, we knew we wanted to work with a premium streaming partner capable of bringing in viewers from around the world, and FITE was the natural choice.”
