The National Hockey League and Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) are continuing to leverage their partnership this week with a new commercial and a presence at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
In the latest installation of the Greater Than One advertising series, First Goals highlights NHL players’ first goals in the league and the emotional responses from the family members who helped the players achieve their life ambitions.
It features Jake Guentzel, Jake DeBrusk, Warren Foegele, Anthony Mantha and Travis Dermott scoring their first goals, and will run on NBC, NBC Sports, NHL Network, and NHL and MassMutual digital and social media channels from November 27.
The Greater Than One series began in April, when MassMutual was named the official life insurance and retirement planning partner of the NHL. To launch the collaboration, the NHL and MassMutual unveiled the NHL Most Valuable Hockey Mom campaign, which celebrates Mother’s Day and the sacrifices ice hockey mothers across the United States make behind the scenes.
As an extension of this campaign, MassMutual will sponsor the NHL’s float during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City on November 28. The Most Valuable Hockey Moms will escort the float, which will feature kids skating on a synthetic ice rink and testing their slapshot skills against a giant turkey goalie. The float will also host NHL alumni Eddie Olczyk and Dominic Moore and pop band the Black Eyed Peas.
The NHL will provide live coverage of the MassMutual-NHL Parade Float through Instagram Stories.
