More Nascar outfits join Race Team Alliance

The collaborative business alliance of teams from the North American stock car racing series Nascar has doubled in size with the addition of a further nine members.

Nine of the most powerful teams in Nascar joined forces to form the Race Team Alliance (RTA) last month to collaborate on initiatives to help cut costs and communicate with a single voice to the sport’s organising body.

The latest teams added are: BK Racing, Circle Sport, Front Row, Germain Racing, Go Green/FAS Lane, HScott Motorsports, JTG Racing, Phil Parsons Racing and Tommy Baldwin Racing.

They join Hendrick Motorsports, Michael Waltrip Racing, Stewart-Haas Racing, Team Penske, Roush Fenway Racing, Joe Gibbs Racing, Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates, Richard Petty Motorsports and Richard Childress Racing, bringing the RTA up to 18 teams.

Michael Waltrip Racing co-owner Rob Kauffman has been elected as the first chair of the organisation, which aims to provide members with a forum to discuss areas of common interest and work in collaboration to benefit themselves and the sport as a whole.
