Leading French Ligue 1 football club AS Monaco has announced that it will grant its official Twitter handle branding space on its shirt.
The initiative will begin with Monaco’s home Ligue 1 game against Valenciennes on Friday. The phrase ‘@ASMFC_Monaco’ will be displayed on the back of the team’s shirt. Monaco said the move symbolises the “dynamism” of the club on social media platforms.
Aided by the spending power of billionaire Russian owner Dmitri Rybolovlev, Monaco has enjoyed a successful return to the French top division this season. The club currently sits second in the table, two points behind leader Paris Saint-Germain.
