London ‘faces fight to keep ATP Finals hosting rights beyond 2020’

London’s long-running tenure as host of the end-of-season ATP Finals men’s tennis tournament is reportedly in danger.

As many as 40 cities from 29 countries have expressed interest in staging the event from 2020, when the O2 Arena’s contract ends.

According to the Evening Standard, the bidding cities need to officially submit their applications by November and a shortlist of between three and five will be announced in December.

London is still thought to be in the reckoning to stage the tournament beyond 2020 but some players feel the time has come for a shift to a new city.
