LIV Golf trio denied bid to play in FedEx Cup Playoffs, Smith ‘to make switch’

A federal judge in California has rejected a bid from three LIV Golf participants to be allowed back into the PGA Tour to compete in the FedEx Cup Playoffs, which begin this week with the FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee.

Talor Gooch, Matt Jones and Hudson Swafford, who are suspended from the PGA Tour having left for the Saudi-backed breakaway league, had sought a temporary restraining order in order to play in the PGA Tour’s lucrative postseason, for which they had previously qualified.
