Lega Serie A, organising body of the top division of Italian club football, has agreed a deal that will see four of the next six editions of the Supercoppa Italiana competition played in Saudi Arabia, with the 2023-24 event expanding to a four-team format.

The agreement, which was first mooted in September, was signed off at a Lega meeting of all 20 Serie A clubs held in Milan yesterday (Monday). Under the deal agreed with Saudi Arabia, the next two editions will be held in the Kingdom, followed by a two-year break where it will travel elsewhere before returning with two more events concluding in the 2028-29 season.
