Jan Dijkema, the president of the International Skating Union, has announced that he will step down in June this year when his latest four-year term comes to an end.

The 77-year-old Dutchman took up the reins at the federation in 2016, winning a four-way race to succeed long-standing ISU president Ottavio Cinquanta, who retired after 20 years at the helm. Dijkema had intended to lead the federation for just two years, but in the absence of alternate candidates, won a second term unopposed in 2018.
