IMG expands further into sports betting market with IMG Arena

IMG has announced the creation of IMG Arena, a new service aimed at the sports betting industry which develops the agency’s offering in that sector.

Working with more than 250 bookmakers worldwide, IMG Arena will provide 24/7 live-streaming services and on-demand virtual sports products to operators, as well as offering a ground-breaking data collection system which will deliver accurate information from source to end user in less than a second.

The move highlights IMG’s ambition in the betting space, after the recent legalisation of sports betting in the US opened up a hugely lucrative new market.

Since first formalising its interest in betting in 2012, IMG has signed partnerships with over 40 major rights-holders, including the ATP, MLS, Serie A, and the NHL.

IMG Arena will sit within IMG Media and be operated from IMG’s London offices, overseen by Freddie Longe, senior vice-president and managing director at IMG.
