Huya-DouYu merger to create Chinese gaming streaming giant ‘worth $11bn’

Huya has agreed a deal to acquire fellow live streaming service DouYu in a stock-for-stock merger deal that is set to create a live online gaming streaming giant in China.

The agreement comes with technology giant Tencent, which already owns 37 per cent of Huya as its largest shareholder and 38 per cent of DouYu, having been pushing for a merger in recent months.
