German Bundesliga football club Fortuna Düsseldorf has extended its main sponsor contract with German chemical and consumer goods company Henkel.
The agreement grants the brand visibility across the front of the club’s shirt and will run until the end of the 2020-21 season.
The pair’s association initially began in 1998, lasing for three seasons. It then restarted for the 2010-11 season and in 2018 the agreement was upgraded to the main sponsor designation in a two-season deal, which SportBusiness sources indicate was worth €3m ($3.3m) a year.
Its shirt sponsorship portfolio is completed by its sleeve sponsor Toyo Tires and its kit supplier, German sports manufacturer UHL sport.
From the start of next season, Fortuna will market its sponsorship, stadium advertising and hospitality rights in-house after opting not to extend its deal which had seen Infront market its German commercial rights since 2009.
