Former Liverpool chief executive Ayre takes over at Nashville

Ian Ayre, the former Liverpool chief executive, will formally take the reins at Nashville SC at the end of November.

With Nashville set to join Major League Soccer in 2020, Ayres is formally assuming day-to-day responsibilities from Court Jeske, who joined Nashville SC in late 2016 and led the team through first season in the second-tier United Soccer League this year.

“Court’s leadership of Nashville SC has created important groundwork for professional soccer in Nashville,” Ayre said. “We look forward to continuing to build on his initial efforts as we help the city take its love of soccer to new heights as we build our new team for Major League Soccer.”
