Singapore Airlines has signed a deal with Formula One to extend its title sponsorship of the Singapore Grand Prix until 2021.

The race has been a prominent fixture on the Formula One calendar since 2008. This will be the fifth consecutive year in which it has been sponsored by the airline.

Chase Carey, chairman and chief executive of Formula One, said: ‘’As one of the premier events on the race calendar, loved by fans and drivers, it is a perfect fit for us to work alongside the national airline of Singapore.’’

Goh Choon Phong, chief executive of Singapore Airlines said: ‘’We are pleased to be continuing as title sponsor, and helping to further enhance both sports and tourism for the benefit of Singaporeans and visitors alike.’’

The agreement comes just days ahead of this year’s installment of the race. The Grand Prix will be held on Sunday September 22.
